Crandall Texas, - Three men have been arrested in connection with a suspected auto theft ring.
After a two month long undercover operation more than $70,000 in stolen vehicles, including a travel trailer, has been recovered. The vehicles were reported stolen out of Dallas and Collin County. The trailer was reported stolen out of Farmers Branch.
As investigators tried to take the suspects into custody, two of the suspects fled the scene on foot, and after a brief foot chase were taken into custody by Kaufman County deputies.
Arrested were James Dale Honeycutt, 51, of Crandall, Brian S Duncan, 23, of Plano, and Jarrod Glen Hawkins, also of Plano. Honeycutt is charged with theft of property over $20,000, but under $100,000., Theft of property over $1500.00 but under $20,000., and three outstanding felony warrants from Dallas County, and two outstanding warrants from Cedar Hill PD. Duncan is charged with theft of property over $1500.00, but under $20,000 and evading arrest/detention. Hawkins is charged with Theft of property over $1500.00 but under $20,000, evading arrest/detention and two outstanding warrants from Rockwall PD.
All three suspects were taken into custody and transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center where they remain at this time.
