Crandall Texas, - A traffic stop on a Green Dodge pickup truck pulling a white cargo trailer without current tags, tail or brake lights, resulted in a stolen truck out of Balch Springs and trailer stolen out of Mesquite being recovered by Kaufman County deputies. The vehicle was stopped driving east bound on US Highway 175 on January 28, 2012 at 5:15 pm.
The two suspects driving the stolen vehicle and trailer were identified as Tony Michael Caddell, 28, Dallas, and Roger McKinley, 45, of Seagoville. As Deputies searched the vehicle and trailer, the Kaufman County Sheriffs Office K-9 hit alerted deputies to possible drugs on the driver’s side of the vehicle. Deputies found what was believed to be methamphetamine hidden inside of the driver’s side of the vehicle. Both suspects were detained by Kaufman County investigators.
Two more suspects were taken into custody during the investigation into the theft. Some of the stolen property from the trailer was recovered at a residence in Balch Springs. Investigators recovered stolen four wheelers and other property with an estimated value of over $25,000.00. Arrested on outstanding warrants at the Balch Springs residence was Shawn Creed Shaw, 33, of Dallas and James Anthony Gaddis, 44, also of Dallas. Shaw was wanted on a warrant out of Kaufman County Sheriffs Office for Failure to Appear and Interference with an emergency call and a warrant out of Dallas County Sheriffs Office for bond forfeiture Possession of controlled substance methamphetamines. Gaddis showed to have an outstanding warrant for a probation violation.
