Terrell Texas,-What started out as a traffic stop, turned into two Smith County residents being arrested on drug related charges. On March 13, 2012, at approximately 5:30 pm. Kaufman County deputies stopped a 2012 Maroon Jeep for speeding on Interstate 20 near mile marker 510.
As the deputy identified the driver and the passenger, he asked for permission to search the vehicle. During the search of the vehicle, the deputy found drug paraphernalia and several prescription bottles filled with pills that did not belong to the type of prescription labeled on the bottle. As the deputy continued making a search of the vehicle he found another bag containing more prescription drugs that did not match the person the prescriptions were issued to.
Arrested and charged with Possession of a substance in Penalty group 3 less than 28 Grams, Possession of a dangerous drug and Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. was Pamela Macheal Alford, 46, of Flint. The driver of the vehicle, Alisha Gene Allen, 36, of Bullard was also arrested and charged with Possession of Marijuana less than 2 oz. and Possession or Delivery of Drug Paraphernalia.
Both suspects were transported to the Kaufman County Law Enforcement Center, where bond was set at $225,000.00 for Alford, and $6,500.00 for Allen.
